Yealink BLF Configuration

This manual is designed to guide customers through setting up the BLF (Busy Light Function) feature on compatible Yealink phones. The guide will presume you have already configured the VoIP registration settings. If you still need to register the phone to MaxoTel, please check the Setup Guides page or call MaxoTel on 1800 12 12 10.

BLF keys on the phone can be configured in two ways, either using the web interface or directly on the handset. Each of these are broken out into their relevant section below.

Web Interface

1. In order to setup the BLF keys, you will need to know the full extension number, which includes your service identifier prefix. For example, extension 101's full extension number may be 111101.

2. Retrieve the IP Address of the phone you would like to configure the BLF on. This can be done by pressing the 'OK' button on the phone. Type the IP address into your web browser to enter the Web Configuration of the phone. The default username and password will be 'admin'.

3. Click on the 'DSSKey' tab at the top. For each BLF button you would like to configure, chose the 'BLF' Type, enter the Full Extension Number of the phone you want to see the status of, type the name of the Extension Number and then click 'Confirm'.

Note: Make sure to include your PBX prefix in the extension number. The Extension Number should be 5-6 digits in length.

3. To allow your phone to pick up one of the ringing BLF lines, you will need to setup the Call Pickup feature.

Click on the 'Features' tab at the top, then click on 'Call Pickup' on the left hand side. Change the 'Directed call Pickup' value to Enabled, type *98 into the 'Directed Call Pickup Code' field and then click Confirm.

Configure from Handset

1. In order to setup the BLF keys, you will need to know the full extension number, which includes your service identifier prefix. For example, extension 101's full extension number may be 111101.

If you have access to the My Account Portal, you can find the full extension number by clicking edit on any of your extensions in the PBX Extensions page. If not, you can find this on your handset by holding down the Line key. This will normally be the top left hand line. The phone will show you a prompt containing your full extension number. Split the extension number into the two parts, service id + extension number, and remember the service id. For example, if your extension is 101, and your full extension number is 4214101 (4214+101), remember 4214

2. Hold down one of the unconfigured line keys on your handset, that you wish to use to monitor another extension. When the Key configuration prompt appears, enter BLF as the key type, then enter the full extension number of the extension you'd like to monitor. If this was 103, and your service ID from the previous step was 4214, you would enter 4214103. Enter the name you'd like this key to display as on your phone screen (for example, the person's name), then push the Save key.

3. Repeat this for any other line keys you would like to configure, remembering to change the extension number to the correct person for each key.
