An AVC ID (Access Virtual Circuit Identifier) is a unique identifier assigned to a specific NBN(R) service once it is activated.
Each AVC ID consists of 15 characters, starting with the prefix "AVC", followed by 12 numerical digits (ie, AVC123456789012).
From 18 April 2025, the AVC ID will be required when transferring your NBN(R) service from one provider to another, to ensure the correct service is being moved. If you are planning to transfer an active service to a new provider, it is recommended that you obtain your AVC ID in advance to avoid any delays in the transfer process, as from April 18th at the latest, you will not be able to submit a transfer without the AVC ID.
You can locate your AVC ID through one of the following methods:
On Your Bill - Many NBN providers include the AVC ID on your monthly invoice or account statement. Look for a section labeled Service Details, NBN Connection Information, or similar.
Through Your Provider - If you cannot find your AVC ID on your bill, contact your current service provider's customer support. They can retrieve the ID for you and confirm your connection details.
Please see below for some of the most common providers and how to locate your current AVC, which is a requirement when raising a transfer order
